IG Punjab Rao Abdul Karim

The Punjab Government has decided to appoint Rao Abdul Karim as the new IG Punjab for the new term. The services of the previous Inspector General of Punjab Mr. Usman Anwar has been handed over to Federal Government.

New IG Punjab Appointment

According to the Punjab Government sources, the CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz has approved the final name of new IG Punjab Police as Rao Abdul Kareem. In fact, there was three police officers of high command were in the race of new IG Police. First of all, the CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Wasim Sial the Additional IG Punjab Police for Counter Terrorism Department and Additional IG Special Branch Mr. Rao Abdul Kareem.

Usman Anwer as DG FIA

Current Position of Rao Abdul Kareem

Rao Abdul Karim has been finalized as the new IGP of Punjan Police. He was previously working as the Additional IG Special Branch. His appointment is finalized by the CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Mr. Rao Abdul Karim has decades of experience in Police of various areas. Moreover, he has served as ASP, SP, SSP and DPOs in various districts and divisions. According to the press release issued on the official page of Punjab Police, th newly appointed IG Punjab Rao Abdul Kareem stated that all under-construction projects will be completed according to the vision and mission of CM Punjab.

Further, Mr. Abdul Kareem Inspector General of Punjab has stated that maintaining law and order in the province is the top preference of our department. Further, he explained that all efforts will be made to get the interest of public.

Further, he has also served on key posts of Punjab Police, such as DIG Telecommunication, DIG Traffic Punjab, IG Punjab Highway Patrol, Commandant PC and RPO Gujranwala.

Background of Police Chief

Rao Abdul Kareem belongs to the rich culture of Sindh. He is from Nawabshah. In addition, he joined the Police Service through CSS in 1996. He has served on many ranks, like ASP-UT, Sukkar, SDPO Sukkar City, Chiniot and Latifabad.

Further, he has also served as Supterintendent Police Gujranwala, Sheikhupura and Lahore. Further, he also served as District Police Officer (DPO) Mianwali, Jhang and Kasur.
