There are lots of conflicts between Pakistan and India since their independence in 1947. As Pakistan and India are both neighboring countries and located in South Asia, due to their proximate border and joint history under the colonial era of British, they both share many similarities.
Conflicts Betwene Pakistan and India
There are lots of conflicts since their independence between Pakistan and India. Before the independence Pakistan and India were living under the colonial rule of British. They both were sharing the same political and economic setup under the British rule. But after the 1947 independence act passed by the British, both states were separated and their resources were also separated.
Division of Land
In this way, the first conflict arising between Pakistan and India was the division of land. Division of land. Division of land was the first conflict between India and Pakistan in 1947. This conflict was emerged as land was distributed among Pakistan and India.
There were some states who were relunctant to joined Pakistan or India. They were of the view that they want to their independent government neither under the Pakistan nor under the India.
First conflict Kashmir
The state of Kashmir did not join Pakistan or India. Therefore, on both sides, army attacked the state of Kashmir. Kashmir was the biggest state in Hindustan. Therefore, both Pakistan and India wanted to get the ownership of the state.
Resultantly, some part of the state is guarded by Pakistan, whereas majority of the state comes under the control of India.
Water dispute between India and Pakistan
Water distribution is another major conflict between India and Pakistan since the independence. As after the independence in 1948, first world war was fought between India and Pakistan.
Therefore, in the result of this war, India has stopped all the water flowing from India to Pakistan. This resulted in the conflict of water between India and Pakistan. Later on, with the help of World Bank in 1960.
The issue of water was resolved between India and Pakistan and rivers were distributed among India and Pakistan and eastern rivers were given to India and western rivers were given to Pakistan. Since, Jhelum and Chenab were given to Pakistan and Ravi, Satluj and Beas were given to India.
