Cotton of Pakistan is global. Similarly, this industry also contributed a percentage in the national income of Pakistan in the past. But recently, the industry is facing a slow decline period.

Now the situation is such in Pakistan that cotton and thread is imported to Pakistan from other countries instead of having an agricultural state. Pakistan is facing the situation that it is importing cotton from other countries to fulfill the needs of the cotton industry in Pakistan. Resultantly, the investors moved towards other industries as well as other neighbor countries to protect their capital because in the situation of Absence of sufficient energy resources regarding the cotton industry cannot be ran in these new ports. So, the energy crisis hit a lot the growth and development of cotton industry in Pakistan, especially in big cities like Faisalabad.

Similarly, on the other side, the excess of cultivation of cotton in major agricultural region of Pakistan like Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Layyah, Multan resulted in the low provision of cotton to the cotton industry. The farmers shifted their choice of cultivation of cotton and preferred other cash crops due to the problems of cultivation of cotton. They prefer sugarcane, maize, rice, etc. In this situation, cotton cultivation and per acre yield started declining.
