Azad Kashmir Lockdown and Protest – Today, 29th of September 2025, all the people across Azad Kashmir are protesting against the government of AJK for their basic rights. In this regard, all the markets were shut down. Similarly, all other private institutes were also closed due to the protest call in Azad Kashmir by the Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC).

Why is this protest arranged by the Awami Action Committee of Azad Kashmir. Previously, almost two years before, the Joint Awami Action Committee also protested for the cheap price of flour and electricity prices across AJK. The demands of the protestors were accepted at that time and price of flour as well as electricity were reduced to a cosniderable extent.

Joint Awami Action Committee Current Protest

The current protest of 29th Sep, 2025, in Azad Kashmir is for the basic rights of the people. These rights vary from socio-economic, political, health-related, and the elimination of 12 Mahajar seats in Pakistan. These are the major demands of the people of Kashmir.

Current Status of Azad Kashmir Protest

Currently, there are high levels of protests in all the major cities of Azad Kashmir. People of Kashmir have closed their shops, markets, and all kinds of business activities to participate in the protests at various places of Kashmir.

Current Status of Protest in Mirpur

People across Pakistan and AJK are searching for the protest status in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. The Awami Action Committee Mirpur has closed all the markets, and the main procession is in Sahheed Chok Mirpur. Currently, there is no news of clashes with the security forces in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. The Mangla entry point is also open, but people are advised to avoid any unnecessary travelling from Mirpur to Pakistan. Because at any time, the entry point can be closed by the protestors.

Status of Protest in Rawlakot

Currently, Rawlakot is the epicenter of protestors, and the main protest is also over there. People of Rawlakot have closed all the major points of the markets and there is shut down protest in Rawalkot.

Moreover, there is also no news of clash between the protestors and police in various places of Rawlakot. Today, the people of Rawlakot have closed their markets to record their protest before the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Status of Protest in Muzaffrabad Azad Kashmir

In Muzaffrabad, a huge crowd of people is seen everywhere. As Muzaffrabad is the capital of Azad Kashmir. Therefore, people across the state capital have gathered at various places in Muzaffrabad. They are chanting slogans against the unjust and inequality in the autonomous state of Kashmir.

Killing of a Protestors in Neelum Azad Kashmir

There is news of the killing of a young, innocent man in the Neelum District of Azad Kashmir. The death was caused in the result of a clash between the Awami Action Committee protestors and the workers of the Muslim Conference when the convoy of a minister was passing the protestors.

Conclusion

Today, there were all kinds of blockages in Azad Kashmir. On one side, the Government of Azad Kashmir has blocked all kinds of communication networks, including the internet, landlines, and social media. On the other side, Kashmiris have blocked all the cities by closing their shops and markets. Currently, there is a standstill position in all Jammu and Kashmir State.
