Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA) in Pakistan will be on 15th of August 2025. The event is observed annually in Pakistan with grief and sorrow. Because this event is in commemoration of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).
Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA) Date
In Pakistan, as well as in many other states, this event will be observed on the 15th of August 2025. Many other states, especially Iraq and Iran, also observed this day with sorrow and grief.
Chehlum or Arbaeen Event
Arbaeen, which means forty, is the 40th day of the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his family in Iraq in 61 Hijri. The martyrdom of Imam Hussain was done on the order of Yazid, the leader at that time of the Muslim State.
Events of Chehlum in Pakistan and World
In Pakistan the day of Chehlum is observed with sorrow and grief by all the muslims especially by the Shia sect of Muslims. In Pakistan the gathering of people outside of their homes is less as compared o the events of 10th of Moharram i.e. the day of martye of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
In many big cities of Pakistan processions are recorded. In Karachi and Lahore hundreds of thousands people start the same gathering as on 10th of Moharram.
For instance, in Lahore, people start the Arbaeen walk from Thokar Niaz Baig and reach to famous center Gamay Shah near Data Darbar to show solidarity with the martyred Imam Hussain and his Family.
