Brief Facts about ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The ICC Champion Trophy 2025 is scheduled in Pakistan, but due to the Indian Cricket teams refusing to play in Pakistan, the venue has been partially changed. Now the Indian team will play all its matches in the UAE. Whereas, all of the rest of the matches will be played in Pakistan (Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi-Islamabad). ICC or International Cricket Council Champions Trophy is the mega event that is organized by the ICC. The cricket teams that played this international event are the top teams of the world.

History of Champions Trophy
The Champions Trophy was first of all held in 1998. At that time it was originally called the ICC Knockout Tournament. Later on in the year 2002, the ICC Knockout Tournament was renamed as ICC Champions Trophy.
Currently, it is conducted under the name ICC Champions Trophy. Moreover, the tournament is held every 2-4 years, although it is not held frequently. So the purpose of the tournament is to bring together the top-ranked cricket teams of the world in a competitive environment of an ODI tournament. So it is shorter than the World Cup. Participating teams of ICC Championship
Normally there are eight top cricket teams who participate in ICC Champions Trophy. Normally, historically, there are eight cricket champion teams who participated mostly in the ICC Champions Trophy, such as Australia cricket team, England cricket team, India cricket team and Pakistan cricket team.
Format of the ICC Championship Trophy
First of all, there is a group stage, in which all participating teams, are divided into two groups, four teams in each group. Secondly, there is a round robin. In this round robin stage of ICC Champions Trophy, each team plays every other team in its group. Then there is a semi-final stage.
The top two cricket teams from each group play a match with one another. And then there is the final stage in which two teams from each group play the final match. Moreover, if we talk about the match type, it is a one-day international and 50-over match.
Winners of ICC Champions Trophy
The first Champions Trophy was held in 1998. It was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh and won by the South Africa cricket team. The second Champions Trophy was held in 2002, and it was conducted by Sri Lanka.

Similarly, Champions Trophy 2006 was held in India and Australia cricket team won this tournament. Furthermore, ICC Cricket Champions Trophy 2009 was held in South Africa and Australia was the winner of this tournament. Further, the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 was held in England and Wales and India was the winner of this tournament.
Lastly, the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 was held in England and Wales, and Pakistan was the winner of this tournament. Until now, Australia has won this tournament two times.
