How Middle East Conflicts Are Reshaping Global Energy Security in 2026

The military crisis, especially the closure of Strait of Hormuz, is reshaping the global security in 2026. This is because majority of the Asian states as well as Asian and African states are dependent on the resources that are exported from the Middle East states, that is from the Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Iran.

So due to the current situation of war between Iran and the United States of America, the movement of oil tankers in open ocean is almost closed. There is total blockage of Strait of Hormuz by Iran.

On the other side, the United States naval forces have also blocked the outer side of the Strait of Hormuz. In this situation, there is a complete deadlock situation in Strait of Hormuz area, which is affecting the global supply of oil and gas to the rest of the world. In this scenario, the world states and their leaders are thinking about the alternate source of energy in the future.

Global Economic Crisis

The situation in the Strait of Hormuz is creating a global economic crisis for many states. Developing nations like Pakistan, India, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh are mostly dependent on the oil and gas that are exported from the Middle East. Therefore, due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for the last two months, the energy prices in these states are very high. This is resulting in the serious energy crisis and economic problems for these countries.

New World Order and Military Blocs

The current war between Iran, Israel and the US has resulted in the formation of new military blocs, changing of strategic interest, as well as new alignment of world states. At this time, actually, European world has not supported much to the United States. Similarly, the NATO forces have also not fully supported the United States army. In this situation, the world has seen a new world order. More world is tied. Iran has got the united support from China. Morally, similarly, Russia has also openly supported the point of view of Iran.

Iran-US Latest News

At very current time, there is a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, which is beyond the time limit. However, a military ceasefire was mutually agreed between Iran and the United States in the early weeks of April 2026. Until now, this ceasefire is continuing, whereas both states are militarily alert, active, and setting their positions, because they are of the view that the conflict can restart at any time.

Whereas on the other side, the United States has claimed that the active parting has terminated. In this situation, there is a standstill position between the two states. Furthermore, the first round of negotiation between the United States and Iran, is conducted at Islamabad, Pakistan with the help of Pakistan. But these negotiations were not the final talks between the United States and Pakistan, United States and Iran. In the last week of April, there were news that the second round of talks between Iran and the United States would start in Islamabad.

In this regard, the foreign minister of Iran also visited Islamabad, but on the other side, the President Donald Trump stated that there is no need to send the American delegation to Pakistan to talk with the Iranian delegation for fruitless talks. But on the other side, both Iran and the United States are exchanging the peace agreement proposals which are underway.

The peace talk proposals

Both sides, Iran and the United States, have offered peace proposals to one another in different shapes via Pakistan. First of all, Iran has demanded to remove the U.S. sanctions on the state of Iran and its economy. Secondly, Iran has also demanded to end the naval blockade of Iranian seashore boundary.

Similarly, Iran has also demanded to withdraw the U.S. forces from the parting region of Iran. Moreover, most importantly, Iran has also demanded to unfreeze its assets that are frozen.

Strait of Hormuz is the bone of contention

Strait of Hormuz is still the main flashpoint of war between Iran and America in 2026. On one side, Iran has blocked the mainstream of supply of ships from the Strait of Hormuz. In this regard, Iran has announced that any ship trying to pass from the Strait of Hormuz, it will be disastrous for this ship. On the other side, US has blocked the Iranian seashores and blocking the ships which are approaching the Iranian seashores.

This resulted in the emergence of crisis mainly in the Asia region and generally all over the world. This resulted in the sharp increase of oil prices all over the world. Moreover, inflation rate is increased in many states due to blocking of supply of oil as well as many other goods from the Middle East.

The 9th June 2026Call for Shutter Down Lock Down in Azad Kashmir

The Joint Awami Action Committee shut it down in Azad Kashmir. Joint Awami Action Committee has announced the shutdown call in entire Azad Jammu and Kashmir state on 9th of June 2026 to fulfill their demands from the federal and state of Azad government. The major demand of the Awami Action Committee Azad Kashmir is end of 12 refugee seats from the legislative assembly of Azad Kashmir. These 12 seats of refugees are the main reason of clash between the Joint Awami Action Committee and government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The Joint Awami Action Committee has demanded earlier that these seats are not acceptable in Azad Kashmir and provided reason for end of these seats. First of all, the representatives of Rajammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee stated that These seats are the loss of the sector of Azad Kashmir and burden on the budget of Azad Kashmir because these refugee candidates are not using the fund properly for the welfare of the refugees who are settled in Pakistan. Moreover, these refugees who are already settled in Pakistan, Pakistan’s various cities, and they are enjoying best civic facilities like education, health, infrastructure, etc. Therefore, they do not need any fund or developmental scheme from the Azad Kashmir government. So, there is a malpractice of fund and embezzlement of fund received from Azad Kashmir government by these refugee candidates or refugee MLAs for the welfare of the refugees who are settled in Pakistan. Similarly, these refugees are settled in scattered form. Therefore, their collective benefit is impossible. For example, Azad Kashmir refugees who are settled in Lahore, there is one seat of MLA of Azad Kashmir from refugees who are settled in Lahore. So for example one family is settled in one town of Lahore and the other family is settled in the other town. In this way, the refugee MLA who has received a heavy amount of budget from other Kashmir for the welfare of the refugees settled in Lahore cannot provide road facility, health facility and education facility as well as other civic facilities to these refugees because they are settled in scattered form. Moreover, these refugees who are settled in such a developed city of Punjab, that is Lahore, are enjoying the better facilities of education, infrastructure, health and other civic facilities. Therefore, they do not need any further budget or development projects from other Kashmir. These are the valid reasons provided by Section 20 per end of the refugee seat from the Assembly of other Kashmir.
